In
an average state, in an average town, in an average elementary school
class room, there sits, amongst other nick-knacks, a small green
stuffed toy on a shelf. That little stuffed toy has a name: "Junior".
He has a job, too. He's a character on a childrens video series
entitled "VeggieTales". A show that combines the best
of Saturday and "Sunday morning values" - using Christian
principles.
Kids in this classroom see Junior on the shelf, and ask each other
about him.
"Who is that?"
"That? That's Junior!"
"Junior? From what?"
"From VeggieTales! You know that show with Bob The
Tomato and Larry The Cucumber?"
"What?"
"It's a cool show that teaches about God and all His promises
from the Bible."
"Really? Tell me more..."
In a day and age when more and more laws are being proposed and
passed to keep God and the Bible out of our classrooms, this simple
stuffed toy, sitting on a shelf in an elementary classroom is fighting
the good fight. The children themselves are sharing the Word amongst
one another.
Laws may be passed to prohibit a teacher in the front of a classroom
from talking about God, Creationism, and other things - but no law
will ever be passed to prevent the children from talking and learning
from each other.
Please take the time to read Mark 10:13-16. Jesus became angry when
His diciples wouldn't let people bring their children before Him.
He said God's kingdom belongs to people like little children.
